Empowering Children Through Play-Based Learning
We're expanding! Opening 1 February 2026 at our second location:
📍 30 Annandale Road, Cape Town
At Vygotsky School of Play, we nurture the potential of every child through play-based learning, embracing the theories of Lev Vygotsky. Our mission is to create a stimulating environment where children learn through exploration, creativity, and social interaction, helping them develop essential cognitive, emotional, and social skills.
We focus on personalized learning experiences and strive to create a fun and enriching space that respects each child's developmental stage.
Our principal, Mrs. Nadine Nelson, is deeply passionate about early childhood education and believes in the power of play as a fundamental learning tool. With years of experience in education, Ms. Nelson brings an innovative and compassionate approach to teaching, ensuring that each child receives individual attention and care.
Under her leadership, Vygotsky School of Play has become a nurturing haven for young learners.
At Vygotsky School of Play, we believe in holistic development. Our carefully selected extramural programs complement our play-based learning philosophy by offering children opportunities to develop physical, cognitive, and social skills through structured, age-appropriate activities.
Ages 3-8 | 30-minute weekly sessions
Soccercise Starz provides an early training platform where children learn various sports skills in a fun, engaging environment. Our trained coaches focus on building confidence and foundational abilities that extend beyond the sports field.
How it fits our philosophy: Soccercise aligns perfectly with Vygotsky's emphasis on social learning and the Zone of Proximal Development. Children learn through guided practice, peer interaction, and gradual skill-building in a supportive environment.
Coding, Robotics & Computer Literacy
Stimu-Zone offers cutting-edge technological education designed for the new generation. Through coding, robotics, and computer literacy programs, children develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential for the 21st century.
How it fits our philosophy: Stimu-Zone embodies the constructivist approach central to Vygotsky's theories. Children actively construct knowledge through hands-on experimentation, learning by doing, and collaborative problem-solving—all while developing skills for the digital age.
